Shells represent individuals living in crowded metropolitan areas. Cottons they hold inside indicates their privacy being exposed to the public. Everyone seems to be on the track in order, cooperating properly and functioning perfectly in the society. The person in the middle also refers to every individual in the society as they are always being surrounded and constrained by each other and cannot escape. Mirror reflects images, blurring the boundary between individuals and the public.
