        Farewell to water

Inspired by the novel “Fish Have No Feet” by Icelandic writer Jón Kalman Stefánsson exploring family history and identity, this work showcases different transformative and distorted bodies. Echoed by the rich poetic and evocative prose in the book, these works intertwine themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, reflecting on the fluidity of life and the nature of storytelling in shaping our understanding of heritage. As a child emerges into life, we depart the embrace of water's womb, transitioning from a fluid cradle into the vast expanse of breath and being. With latex liquid on the skin, exaggerated branches, life strength, and potential, our connection is warm and wet.
